Hellen holds a Master’s in Biotechnology from the CEBIB, University of Nairobi, and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Technology, University of Nairobi, and is currently a final year PhD student at the Department of Medical Microbiology, Faculty of Health Sciences, at the University of Nairobi. She is also a member and an awardee of the Organisation for Women in Science for Developing World (OWSD).

Hellen possesses vast experience in molecular biology and bioinformatics, as well as researching women’s health. She is passionate about neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), especially Female Genital Schistosomiasis and is passionately dedicated to empowering women, advancing gender equity and advocating for its seamless integration into the global health field.
