Dr. Heidi Auerswald is a Senior Scientist at Institut Pasteur du Cambodge, where she specialises in the characterization and serological assay development for emerging and novel zoonotic viruses. With a robust background in biosafety and laboratory management, she plays a pivotal role as the Scientific Manager of Cambodia’s only Biosafety Level 3 (BSL3) facility.
Dr. Auerswald’s extensive expertise encompasses public health laboratory standards and infectious disease control, with a specific focus on implementing international laboratory standards, enhancing compliance with international quality and safety benchmarks. Her work in rabies diagnostics significantly advanced disease surveillance and response capabilities.
As a co-founder of the Women for One Health network, Dr. Auerswald actively promotes gender equality and collaborative efforts within the global One Health community. Her international experience and leadership in pandemic preparedness initiatives provide valuable insights into global health security, aiding in both scientific advancements and policy development.
