The following presentation slides stem from our session “Women for One Health: Empowering Women in One Health – Overcoming Barriers, Shaping Solutions,” held in Hamburg during the European Congress on Tropical Medicine and International Health.
The ECTMIH is one of Europe’s premier global health gatherings, bringing together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to address urgent challenges in tropical medicine and health equity. The 2025 congress emphasized cross-sector collaboration to address pressing issues such as climate change, infectious and non-communicable diseases, and global health security through integrated and inclusive approaches.

Following the successful opening panel moderated by Prof. Andrea Winkler and Dr. Lilian Waiboci, the session continued with presentations by Dr. Heidi Auerswald, Dr. Phaedra Henley, Dr. Anselme Shyaka and Hellen Kariuki. Their presentations highlight the session’s core themes, including evidence for women’s impact, metrics for inclusion, gender equity advocacy, and pathways for translating insights into policy and practice.
Whether you are looking to gain insights into One Health approaches or explore strategies for advancing gender equity, these slides provide valuable guidance and inspiration from our experts.
